Child Safeguarding 1 Refresher

 

The Gaelic Athletic Association is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment for all young people who wish to participate in our Gaelic Games and activities. We will take all practicable steps to protect them from discernable forms of abuse - from harm, discrimination or degrading treatment and shall respect their rights, wishes and feelings.  The Association and its sister organisations recently launched the online version of Code of Behaviour (Underage). This Code has been agreed between the GAA, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the Camogie Association, GAA Handball Ireland and GAA Rounders.

In accordance with the law and Association policy, any volunteer in the GAA intending to work with children, must have completed the following:

 

1. Garda vetting

 

2. GAA Child Safeguarding 1

 

3. The GAA foundation award at minimum

New GAA Safeguarding 1 Online Refresher Course 

  

The New GAA Child Safeguarding 1 online Refresher Course launched in September 2019 and allows coaches and other volunteers who have already attended a full face to face Safeguarding 1 session in the past 3 years to refresh the course online.  It is an interactive eLearning course split into 6 separate modules as outlines below:

 

 

Enrol on the Course

 

In order to enrol on the course users must first create an account and register on the site.  Click here  register for guidance on how to register.  Once registered, click the Enrol button below and you will be asked for an enrolment key.  The enrolment key is determined by your home Province:
