St. Laurence’s GAA are delighted to ANNOUNCE that we will be ‘LIGHTING UP’ for OPERATION TRANSFORMATION 2022.

From Wednesday 12th January until Wednesday 2nd March our dedicated 0.75km walking / jogging / running track around our GAA pitches will be LIT UP from 6pm to 8pm every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Any club and community members who wish to come together at St. Laurence’s to walk off the excesses of Christmas, catch up with neighbours and friends or banish those winter blues are welcome to avail of this opportunity to use our track.

For health and safety reasons, please make sure to keep to the footpath route provided, and only cross the path of traffic at the crossings provided.

Please note that, due to the current restrictions in respect Covid-19, social distancing should be maintained when using the track.

Please make sure to wear walking gear with bright hi-viz markings at all times when walking / jogging / running in St. Laurence’s GAA Club.

Please remember, NO DOGS are allowed on our grounds at any time unless they are certified and registered Assistance Dogs.

Please spread the word to your friends and family and invite them to take part with us.

This is an initiative between the ‘GAA’, ‘RTE’s Operation Transformation’ and ‘Get Ireland Walking’ in which they are seeking to bring together communities across the 32 counties to enjoy healthy walks in the safe, bright, environs of their local GAA clubs. St. Laurence’s GAA Club is a signed up and registered member of this initiative as part of our GAA Healthy Club policy.

‘Ireland Lights Up’ recommends that each participant has in place their own personal Insurance coverage when participating in ‘Ireland Lights Up’. All participants must accept that they are participating at their own risk. Participants and walk leaders, irrespective of membership status, are not covered by the GAA Injury Benefit Fund.

This year, due to the hard year we all have just come through, St. Laurence’s GAA are delighted to announce that we will be providing the facilities and lighting FREE OF CHARGE to all our club and community members.

St. Laurence’s GAA Bar/Café/Shop will be open each evening from 6-8pm, so please feel free to pop in any evening to say hi.

If you like what we are doing down in St. Laurence’s GAA but you not yet a member, why not think about signing up for 2022. We welcome any offers of help to assist us in maintaining , growing and continually upgrading the facilities we have on offer at Oldgrange.
